According to the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), the couple, Mario Tundag and his wife, Edna, were attacked in front of Poblacion Central Elementary school around 9:00 a.m.

Initial police reports from CPPO said the still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants were tailing the couple before shooting them.
