SC raises Bar admission fee to P5-K

By Alec Go

The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday, March 16, announced that the fee for Bar admission has been raised to P5,000 from P3,750.

The SC said this will take effect upon the oathtaking and roll signing ceremonies for 2022 Bar passers.

“The subject increase shall cover the imminent surge in the operation costs, particularly the cost of the venue for oathtaking and roll signing ceremonies, and other logistical expenses, as well as the allowance of concerned personnel,” the notice read.

In its Bar Bulletin No. 1, the SC set the schedule for the 2023 Bar exam on September 17, 20, and 24 covering six courses.

Scheduled for the first day are Political and Public International Law and Commercial and Taxation Laws.

Civil Law and Labor Law and Social Legislation will be on the second day, while Criminal Law and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises are set for the third day. –cf
