Misamis Occidental’s provincial government officially opened its first floating playground to promote local tourism and outdoor activities in the province.

The new attraction is located in Sapang Dalaga with an area of 3,500 square meters or  equivalent to four basketball courts.

The playground features an inflatable island and waterpark.

It has 32 play courses and obstacles that visitors can enjoy, including the giant Tarzan swings, human launcher iceberg, trampoline, giant slides, donuts, giant hotdog, mountain slide, and mini Tarzan swing.

Sapang Dalaga Mayor Donjie Animas said that the establishment of the floating playground will not just boost tourism but will also create more jobs for the locals.

“Nakuha ko ang pagkakataon na ang establisyimentong ito ay isa sa mas makapagpapasulong ng lungsod ng Sapang Dalaga lalo na sa Caluya para makapagbigay ng trabaho at ito ay isang instrumento para maisulong natin dito sa Misamis Occidental,” Animas said.

Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal said tourism is one of the key programs in his administration, with an additional P12 million enhancement support for the development of tourism programs in Sapang Dalaga town.
