About 1.2 million passengers in the terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are expected over the next 10 days beginning Saturday, April 1, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.

In a press conference, MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong said they are anticipating about 140,000 passenger traffic daily in the upcoming holidays, as border restrictions have been lifted globally since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chiong assured sufficient manpower and equipment for the influx of passengers “to give the riding public a seamless travel experience at NAIA.”

He also advised passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure for international flights and two hours before departure for domestic flights to avoid possible delays.

The official also stressed that in order to expedite processing at the Bureau of Quarantine and Bureau of Immigration counters, international inbound travelers to the Philippines are reminded to complete the eTravel registration online prior to arrival.

Meanwhile, Philippine passport holders are encouraged to use the immigration e-gates upon arrival. – gb
