Malacañang on Monday, April 3, announced that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos have accepted the invitation to attend the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort on May 6.

In a press statement, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said the President and the First Lady also accepted the invitation of the Master of the Household to a Reception on May 5.

The coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, while the Reception is set to be held at the Buckingham Palace.

According to the British Royal Family website, the coronation ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Charles, who is 73 and the oldest monarch to ascend the throne, said during his first address as head of state that he would serve with “loyalty, respect and love” as his late mother Queen Elizabeth II had done for more than seven decades until her death on September 8, 2022 at age 96. ag
