Monday forecast: Rains over parts of PH due to 2 weather systems

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

The weather bureau on Monday, April 10, said some areas in the country will experience rains due to two weather systems.

Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience rains caused by the northeasterly surface windflow.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of a low pressure area last tracked 905 kilometers east of Mindanao.

Flash floods or landslides are likely due to moderate with at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft in the northern, western and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon are alerted against moderate to rough seas.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. – cf
