Filipino Catholics went to churches on Easter Sunday, April 10 to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Aside from attending the Mass, it has also been a part of the Filipino culture to spend time with their families during the Catholic holiday.

We asked netizens how they celebrated the beginning of the Easter season.

Most devotees said they honored Easter Sunday by hearing Mass with their families.

Others mentioned celebrating by going to the beach with their loved ones.

Despite lowered restrictions since the pandemic, some stayed home during Holy Week.

“Sa bahay lang, safe pa,” one netizen wrote.

“Masaya [ang] pamilya ko, walang gala, mainit ang [panahon],” another netizen wrote.

Easter Sunday is widely celebrated in the country with the traditional “Salubong”, a reenactment of the meeting of the Risen Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. – cf
