Despite the long weekend, some Filipinos continued working during the Holy Week.

We asked netizens how they utilized the long weekend.

Mostly said they went to work despite the holiday break.

“Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon tumataas ang bilihin kayod kalabaw pa rin kahit Holy Week para may pangkain sa pamilya,” one netizen wrote.

“Waley long weekend sa pagtitinda,” a netizen added.

“Deployed po to have a safe and peaceful Holy Week,” another netizen responded, referring to police duty last week.

Traditionally, some families travel out of town during the Holy Week.

However, other Filipinos found the traffic to be heavy during these times.

“Ayaw [kong] mamasyal dahil pagod lang sa byahe sobrang traffic,” another netizen wrote.

Meanwhile, others mentioned doing general cleaning on their houses and attending church activities.

The Holy Week brought an increase in foot traffic to travel destinations across the country. -ag
