BuCor officials, personnel to undergo ‘reform’ seminar

By Christine Fabro

One hundred officials and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), including jail guards who were recently relieved of their duties, are set to undergo a seminar as part of the bureau’s reform projects.

“Dito sa BuCor, hindi lang persons deprived of liberty ang nirereform namin, pati mismo personnel namin na medyo naliligaw ng landas irereform din namin,” BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said in a statement.

“I want them to reap what they sow for the services they rendered for the bureau. [They] just have to be patient and change their bad ways because there [is] so much in store for them under this administration,” Catapang noted, citing his various projects intended to benefit BuCor personnel.

Among the projects Catapang initiated include housing projects for BuCor officials and personnel.

“The reform that we are implementing at the BuCor will be one of the legacies of the Marcos administration, so we just have to do our best and be a part of our ‘BuCor reform’ program,” Catapang said.

The two-day seminar will be held on May 30 to 31 at the BuCor National Headquarters in Muntinlupa City. -ag
