Cocolife, Foton reach semis in PH Superliga Grand Prix

MANILA — Cocolife defeated Cignal, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, on Thursday night to book a semifinal berth in the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Imports Tai Manu-Olevao and Taylor Milton played true to form in leading Cocolife to the next round where it will meet top seed F2 Logistics in a sudden-death battle on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Reaching the semifinal round is a big achievement for the Asset Managers, They finished seventh in the Invitational Conference and fifth in the All-Filipino Conference.

Manu-Olevao topscored with 21 points while Milton chipped in 14 points for the Asset Managers, who played minus injured Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga. Honey Royse Tubino led the HD Spikers with 13 points.

Meanwhile, defending champion Foton outplayed Sta. Lucia Realty, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17, in the other quarterfinal match to forge a semifinal duel with Petron.

Import Sara Klisura had 20 kills and three blocks while Jaja Santiago scored 21 points for the Tornadoes.
