The government-run People’s Television Network (PTV) is opening its doors to the cast of Eat Bulaga, the country’s longest running noontime show, after the show’s farewell from its production firm.

In a social media post of the Network, General Manager Julio Castillo Jr. said the government channel is open to programs that promote Filipino culture and values that uplift the lives of Filipinos.

The general manager called on Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey de Leon, the trio popularly known as “Tito, Vic and Joey” to consider joining PTV.

“Bukas po ang ating programa, ang ating network para sa inyong programa na naayon sa mandato ng ating gobyerno,” he said.

The trio announced Wednesday that “Eat Bulaga” is parting ways with its production firm Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), Inc.

GMA Network, which airs the show, said it still has a block time agreement with TAPE until the end of 2024 for the noontime slot.

“We are saddened by today’s unexpected turn of events with regard to Eat Bulaga. GMA has been the home of Eat Bulaga for many years,” it stated.

“Together with all the Filipino fans, we pray for a smooth and swift resolution of their issues. – gb
