Most parts of the country will experience warm and humid weather due to the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao, the weather bureau said Friday, July 7.

Localized thunderstorms are still likely, especially in the afternoon, forecaster Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a weather bulletin issued at 5:00 a.m.

Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the province’s southern portion.

Moderate to at times heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides, according to PAGASA.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas continue to prevail across the archipelago.

Meanwhile, Estareja said no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country in the next few days.

He said a shallow low-pressure area may develop but this has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. –cf
