The government is expanding its Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) project in its bid to complete the 6.5 million housing backlog in the country by 2028.

Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) President Federico Laxa on Thursday, July 6, said the 4PH program involves the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), private sector, local government units, and other shelter agencies to address the lack of sufficient housing in the country.

“Ang layunin ng 4PH ay para matugunan ‘yung napakalaking backlog sa housing natin na lumobo na sa 6.5 million, base doon sa datos na binibigay ng DHSUD,” he said.

Laxa noted that various groups, including military and uniformed personnel, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), government and private sector workers, as well as other individuals in need of housing will benefit from the program.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. earlier led the inspection of the Crystal Peak Estates, a housing project in San Fernando, Pampanga, which will offer 10,250 housing units to Filipinos once completed.

Among the on-going and upcoming housing projects under the 4PH program are located in Davao City, Misamis Oriental, Tarlac, Sta. Mesa in Manila, and Pasig River. – With reports from Trisha Casabar-cf
