Death toll in sunken motorbanca in Binangonan rise to 26

The number of confirmed deaths from the sunken motorbanca in Talim Islands, Binangonan, Rizal rose to 26, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Friday, July 28.

Of the figures, 12 are still unidentified.

PCG said there were only 22 declared passengers on the motorbanca Aya Express’ manifest.

Rescue and retrieval operations are underway.

The Maritime Industry Authority suspended the safety certificate of motorbanca Aya Express following the incident. – cf
