Over 164K families affected by ‘Egay’

Over 164,000 families have been affected by Typhoon “Egay,” the latest data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) showed.

A total of 164,430 families or 582,288 individuals in 13 regions have been affected by the typhoon.

Of which, 3,288 families were served inside 241 evacuation centers and 1,611 families were served outside evacuation centers.

Typhoon “Egay” left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Thursday morning.

“Egay” also left 14 persons dead, 13 hurt, and 20 missing.

The damage to agriculture was pegged at P833.8 million, while the damage to infrastructure was estimated at P1.1 billion.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Falcon,” entered PAR Saturday morning and is expected to intensify within the next three days. – cf
