The southwest monsoon (habagat) will continue to bring rains over Luzon and over other parts of the country this Wednesday, Aug. 2, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said monsoon rains will prevail over Zambales and Bataan, while occasional rains are expected over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Pampanga, Bulacan and Occidental Mindoro.

Habagat will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of Mimaropa.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to habagat and localized thunderstorms.

“Dito sa may bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao at sa Bicol Region, inaasahan pa ring generally fair weather tayo pero posible pa rin ang isolated rain showers at thunderstorms,” he said.

The public is advised of possible flooding, flash floods, and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Typhoon “Khanun” has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday afternoon and was seen 765 kilometers (km) northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 3:00 a.m.
