The Pampanga River overflowed on Wednesday, Aug. 2, causing flooding at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

In an advisory, NLEX said the overflow caused a 50-centimeter deep flood at the southbound part of the expressway and a 40-centimeter deep flood at the northbound direction of Tulaoc River Bridge in San Simon, Pampanga.

“All lanes are passable but expect low moving traffic, which has caused long queues,” NLEX said.

“Patrol teams onsite to manage the traffic situation. Our operations team are also working to lessen flood waters when possible,” it added.

NLEX said its teams are installing sandbags to reduce flooding at the site as the Pampanga River water level continued to rise. – ag
