The National Security Council (NSC) on Tuesday, Aug. 8, said the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will continue their resupply mission for the troops in BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal.

This following the aggressive actions of China Coast Guard against Philippine boats on Aug. 5.

NSC Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya also said it is within the Philippines rights to decide what to deliver in BRP Sierra Madre.

“Naglalagay tayo ng kailangan nila and kung ano man ‘yung kailangan dalhin, we are well within our rights na dalhin ‘yun,” Malaya said.

“Hindi tayo pwedeng diktahan kung anong dadalhin natin at kung anong hindi natin dadalhin,” he added.

China earlier accused the Philippines of bringing construction materials, which they blocked. – cf
