The Department of Health (DOH) warned the public against a post circulating on social media that offers fake cure for diabetes.
In an advisory on Monday, Sept. 4, the DOH said the circulating post citing DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa is using a fake quote.
“The DOH clarifies that no such scenario or statement has been made by the department and its officials,” the advisory read.
“Further, the Department reminds everyone that non-communicable diseases and comorbidities such as diabetes can be prevented by practicing healthy habits such as proper diet and exercise among others,” it added.
The DOH also stressed that criminal charges could be filed against those behind the post.
The Health department also reminded the public to get information from legitimate sources and platforms. -ag
