4 dead in Gen. Nakar landslide

Four individuals including a pregnant woman were killed in a landslide in Sitio Angelo in Brgy. Umiray in General Nakar, Quezon on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

According to the General Nakar local government, two of the victims are a couple from the town, while the two others including the pregnant woman were from Tanay, Rizal.

The remains of the victims were retrieved by joint forces of the Philippine Army, the Philippine Air Force, and local responders. 

The local government has provided maximum assistance including a P30,000 financial aid, scholarship program, and other forms of assistance to the bereaved families of the fatalities.

According to the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, the victims were inside their homes when the landslide took place. 

Responders said they were challenged by unfavorable weather conditions and location, prompting them to use choppers to retrieve the victims. – With reports from Bien Manalo-ag
