The Bureau of Immigration (BI) advised foreigners leaving the country for the upcoming holiday break to settle their immigration departure requirements ahead of time to avoid inconveniences in airports on their departure date.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said they are expecting a surge in passengers in airports this upcoming holiday for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

“[And] this time we are seeing a tremendous increase in volume of New Year’s Day travelers with the total lifting of all COVID-related travel restrictions,” Tansignco said.

The BI said for-departure registered foreigners permanently living, working, or studying in the country can secure their re-entry permit or special return certificate in any of the bureau’s district, field, satellite and extension offices nationwide.

Foreign tourists who have stayed in the country for more than six months may also secure their emigration clearance certificates before departing.

Foreigners may also avail of the immigration services online through e-services.immigration.gov.ph, or through the BI’s one-stop shop facility at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City. -ag
