The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said all transportation systems are prepared for the upcoming holiday season for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, and for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Based on the DOTr’s update, Secretary Jaime Bautista has already directed agencies in charge of the aviation, railway, maritime and road sectors to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers.

“All transport sectors and attached agencies have been instructed to provide assistance to all passengers this Undas season. The DOTr’s lines of communications are also available to address passenger concerns,” Secretary Bautista said.

More personnel will be deployed in airports, rail lines, seaports and roads to accommodate passenger concerns, while enhanced security has been ordered by the Office for Transportation Security in all transportation facilities.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport under the Manila International Airport Authority will have units to assist passengers in its Oplan Help desks.

The Philippine National Railways, Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2, and the Manila Metro Rail Transit Line 3 will continue to operate on their regular hours.

A heightened alert for all Philippine Coast Guard units is also in effect to ensure maritime security and safety.

Personnel will also be deployed in integrated terminal exchanges, terminals and other major thoroughfares.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has allowed provincial buses along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. until Nov. 6. -ag
