ASF vaccine trial sisimulan na, ayon sa DA

Sisimulan na ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang mass trial para sa bakuna kontra African swine fever (ASF).

Una nang inihayag ni Agriculture Sec. Francisco Tiu-Laurel, Jr. na inaasahang aaprubahan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang commercial trial ng bakuna sa susunod na dalawang linggo.

Sa oras na matapos ang nasabing trial, papayagan ang distribusyon ng ASF vaccine. Positibo naman ang DA na ito ang tutugon sa problema sa ASF.

Ang ASF ay isang nakamamatay na sakit na tumatama sa mga baboy.

Binigyang-diin ng ahensiya na ito ang magpopondo at mamamahala sa mass trial ng bakuna. Manggagaling ang bakuna mula Vietnam, na nagpakita ng magandang resulta roon.

Ayon kay DA Spokesperson Asec. Arnel De Mesa, “Ito na ngayon iyong pang mas malakihan na trial, lalabas na tayo doon sa mga laboratoryo, lalabas na tayo doon sa maliliit na samples.”

“Iyon iyong expectation natin within the year, maging okay na para by next year wala na tayong problema sa ASF,” dagdag ni De Mesa. – bjlc/iro
