Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was not homeschooled, as she had earlier claimed, and instead studied at a Quezon City school for three years, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian disclosed.

During Wednesday’s Senate probe, Gatchalian presented various school records of Guo when she allegedly attended Grace Christian High School from Grades 1 to 3, or from 2000 to 2003.

In fact, according to the senator, he and Guo came from the same school.

“Apparently, si Guo Hua Ping, or si Alice Guo, ay hindi lumaki sa farm. Hindi rin siya homeschooled. Nag-aral ho siya,” Gatchalian said.

“Hindi siya homeschooled ni [Teacher] Rubilyn, nag-aral talaga ho siya. And ang natatandaan ko, sa school namin, walang farm po doon, puro building doon,” he added.

Guo’s Alien Certificate of Registration also matched the Bureau of Immigration’s records of the Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, Gatchalian said.

The latest revelation regarding Guo’s true identity contradicts her claims that she grew up on a farm and was only tutored by a certain Teacher Rubilyn.

Hontiveros also ruled to cite Guo and others in contempt for not attending the Senate hearing.

Meanwhile, Guo’s camp asked the Supreme Court to stop the Senate from compelling her to attend the hearing.

In a 78-page petition for certiorari, the embattled mayor asked the high court to also annul the subpoena issued against her. – av
