In its track forecast, the state weather bureau said Marce may exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Friday afternoon or evening.

Marce made landfall over Santa Ana, Cagayan at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday, according to PAGASA.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the low pressure area outside PAR has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

The LPA was located 1,770 km east of southeastern Luzon and may enter the PAR Friday evening or Saturday morning (Nov. 9).

“Dahil nasa karagatan po ito ay hindi natin niru-rule out yung possibility na mag-develop o mag-intensify po ito into a tropical depression sa mga susunod na araw,” PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said.

“In the coming days kahit LPA or maging bagyo man po ito, ay posible itong magdulot ng mga pag-ulan lalo na dito sa may eastern section ng Luzon area,” Clauren-Jorda added.

Once it enters the PAR as a tropical depression, it will be given the name Nika.
