Senior citizen nabbed, P10-M illegal drugs seized in Laguna

Police officers arrested a 60-year-old man and seized over P10 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust in Laguna province Friday.

In a statement, Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group Chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said suspect alias “Karding” was nabbed at his residence in Barangay Maytalang 1, Lumban town, shortly before 11 a.m.

Matta said Karding has a search warrant issued by a court in Lucena City, Quezon dated Nov. 26, 2024.

Police seized from the suspect 1.51 kg of shabu and 301 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves.

The suspect is currently detained at the Lumban Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
