Minimum wage earners in Caraga Region are set to receive a P50 daily wage increase starting next month, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Monday.
In a statement, the DOLE said the wage order was approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) on Dec. 13 and will be given in two tranches.
The first tranche, effective Jan. 2, 2025, will bring the daily minimum wage from P385 to P415 across all sectors, and raised further to P435 upon implementation of the second tranche on May 1, 2025.
The wage order is expected to directly benefit 65,681 minimum wage earners in Caraga.
On the other hand, domestic workers in the region will receive a P1,000 increase in their monthly minimum wage, or from P5,000 to P6,000.
The wage increase for “kasambahay” or household helpers is expected to benefit a total of 32,866 domestic workers—approximately 24 percent of whom are on live-in arrangements.
Both wage orders will be published on Tuesday and will take effect after 15 days from publication, or on Jan. 2, 2025.
