A repatriated Filipina domestic worker from Qatar arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Sunday, April 20.

She was immediately reunited with her two children aged 12 and 16 and family members, who were waiting for her at the airport.

The displaced overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was one of the 17 OFWs who were put behind bars for illegal assembly but were eventually freed by Qatari authorities.

Of her 17 compatriots, the repatriated OFW was the only one whose employment was affected after her employer decided to terminate her services.

This led her to apply for voluntary repatriation and immediate assistance from the DMW-OWWA-Migrant Workers Office in Qatar, under the One Country-Team Approach led by the Department of Foreign Affairs-Philippine Embassy.

She has been working in Qatar since 2019, but prior to that, she had a 3-year stint as a domestic worker in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac promised to provide training, reemployment, and livelihood assistance to the repatriated OFW on top of the financial assistance given to her by the DMW.
