N. Vizcaya town beefs up Yuletide security

ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya — Round-the-clock police patrol of Aritao’s business district and bus terminal will be conducted to ensure the safety of the people visiting here, especially this Christmas season.

Chief Inspector Joberman A. Videz, Aritao police chief, said Friday that the 24-hour patrol is effective in deterring crimes.

Policemen and barangay tanods are also posted in strategic areas such as the public market.

Videz said the influx of visitors to the town was the primary reason for the increased police visibility for them to feel safe and secure while visiting even during the peak of the Christmas celebration and New Year’s Day.

Police checkpoints and mobile patrols from the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) were also activated to monitor motorists coming in and out of the Cagayan Valley. (Simeon Dilan/PNA)
