President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will order an investigation into the operations of Villar-owned PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation (PWIC) in the wake of the water utility company’s alleged service disruptions and high rates charged to its consumers.

This, after Bulacan officials urged Congress to look into PrimeWater’s poor service.

Bulacan residents have also expressed deep frustration over PrimeWater’s failure to supply their water needs.

Castro said services offered by any water utility companies must not be compromised.

Asked if the Palace could still vouch for the competence of Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, given her links to PrimeWater, Castro said, “Well, it depends on how she will perform. If we will have this trust on her, well, we have to give it to her, but she should prove that she could perform as a leader.”

Villar is seeking a Senate seat under the administration’s “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” slate.
