The Philippines once again solidified its place in the global tourism community as the country secured nominations in three key categories at the 24th Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced Monday.
The United Kingdom-based Wanderlust—the longest-running and largest travel magazine in the UK—nominated the Philippines for the “Most Desirable Country (Worldwide)”, Cebu for the “Most Desirable Region (Worldwide),” and Palawan for the “Most Desirable Island (Worldwide)” award.
Palawan ranked 10th in the same category during last year’s travel awards.
The country is also eligible to win in subcategories within the Most Desirable Country category, including Culture and Heritage, Nature and Wildlife, Adventure, Gastronomy, and Sustainability.
For Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, these nominations affirm the government’s efforts to promote the Philippines as a leading travel destination through its natural beauty, rich heritage and culture, and the warmth of the Filipino people.
“I would personally like to call on once again our fellow Filipinos, as well as our foreign friends, to show love for the Philippines by choosing it in the upcoming 24th Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards,” Frasco said.
The public can vote on their “most desired” travel destinations via wanderlusttravelawards.com/ until Oct. 27, 2025.
Winners will be recognized in a ceremony at the National Gallery in London on Nov. 5, 2025.
