PBBM all set for SONA 2025; Speech to last for over an hour —PCO

By Brian Campued

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has finished rehearsing his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), which is estimated to last for over an hour, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed Monday.

The President will deliver his fourth SONA later this afternoon at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City, where he will report on the administration’s accomplishments and ongoing projects, as well as reaffirm directives for his “Bagong Pilipinas” agenda.

Last year’s SONA lasted for about an hour and 22 minutes, wherein one of the highlights was his directive to ban all Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).

In a media interview at the Blair House in Washington, DC, following his three-day official visit in the United States, Marcos explained that this year’s speech will be different from his previous addresses as “the state of the nation today is different from what it was last year and the last year before that.”

Nonetheless, the Chief Executive said he will be focusing on the social programs of the government “for the people in need.” (with report from Clay Pardilla / PTV News)
