The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday welcomed “with deep gratitude” the latest OCTA Research survey showing high public trust in the military.
“We are especially honored that the AFP remains in the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens,” AFP Spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said in a statement.
“Their trust is both a validation of our steadfast commitment and a call to remain vigilant, disciplined, and dedicated in every domain where we are needed—whether defending our territory, responding to disasters, assisting in development, or confronting emerging challenges in cyberspace.”
Based on OCTA’s July 2025 Tugon ng Masa survey, 81 percent of adult Filipinos expressed trust in the AFP, while 82 percent said they are satisfied with the institution’s performance.
The fieldwork was conducted from July 12 to 17 using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 male and female respondents aged 18 years and above.
“This independent and non-partisan survey, conducted through rigorous and scientific methodology, reflects not just institutional performance but the collective trust of the Filipino people, which continues to guide and inspire the men and women in uniform,” Padilla said.
She commended OCTA for its “professionalism and impartiality in providing data that empowers public discourse and governance.”
“The AFP recognizes their work as a credible partner in transparency and civic awareness,” Padilla said of OCTA. (PNA)
