CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City — Police Regional Office CALABARZON Director Chief Supt. Ma. O R. Aplasca has directed all police unit commanders in the region to continue to coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs) and other concerned partner agencies pertaining to their designated public fireworks/firecracker exhibition or display zones pursuant to President Rodrigo RoaDuterte’s Executive Order No. 28.
The CALABARZON regional police headquarters has assigned 1,451 policemen in the region’s places of convergence; 240 in the region’s transportation hubs and terminals and 1,516 for route security.
The move also aims to attain a zero indiscriminate firing incident during the New Year celebration.
Aplasca assured the public that the CALABARZON personnel will relentlessly uphold their mandate in ensuring that the people of the region will experience and enjoy a peaceful and safe New Year celebration.
“Nakahanda po ang buong pwersang PRO4A (Police Regional Office 4-A) upang agarang matugunan ang inyong mga pangangailangan higit lalo sa usaping pang-kapayapaan at kaayusan (The entire PRO4A police force stands ready to respond to the public’s needs especially on matters of peace, public safety and order),” Aplasca assured.
He likewise appealed to the public to be more vigilant in the communities, in their respective localities and report suspicious persons or illegal activities in their surroundings to the police through the hotline 911.
“Sabay-sabay po nating salubungin ang bagong taon na ligtas, masaya at puno ng pag-asa sa mas mapayapa at maunlad na bagong taon (Together, let us all welcome the New Year celebration that is safe, happy and full of hope toward a more peaceful and prosperous new year),” Aplasca said.
“I am appealing to the public for support and cooperation so that we will achieve our ultimate goal of having a zero firecracker and indiscriminate firing incidents,” Aplasca said.
After the long Christmas weekend holidays, the CALABARZON Police Regional Office reported no recorded cases of illegal possession, use, sale of firecrackers.
Neither stray bullet, indiscriminate firing, fire/burning nor injured/killed or property damage due to firecrackers were recorded in the region comprised of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
Aplasca on Wednesday expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and compliance to existing laws.
He also commended the regional police force in “ensuring a safe, secured, peaceful and joyful Christmas celebration.” (PNA)
