Building upon her 4-year tenure as the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) top official, former DOT Secretary Christina Frasco steps into a new role vested in her by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

During a ceremony held at Malacañang late Wednesday, President Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to Frasco as Presidential Adviser for Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC).

The Chief Executive congratulated Frasco on her appointment and expressed confidence that under her leadership, the SRC will foster stronger collaborations with local government units, noting Frasco’s background in promoting sustainable local development and implementing national programs at the local level.

Before her tenure as Tourism Secretary from 2022 to 2026, Frasco served two terms as the mayor of the municipality of Liloan, Cebu from 2016 to 2022.

She also worked as a professor at the University of San Carlos School of Law from 2008 to 2016, and as a senior associate at Romulo Law Offices from 2007 to 2016.

Frasco earned her juris doctor degree from Ateneo Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Management, Major in Legal Management, from Ateneo de Manila University—eventually passing the bar examination in 2007.
