Reinforcing the message that the government remains unperturbed by detractors and the opposition, Malacañang said that it will not bat an eye to political noise and distraction dished by nuisance personalities.

In a Malacañang briefing on Monday, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro lashed out at Vice President Sara Duterte’s remarks on the 2028 national elections.

Castro pointed out the contrast between the actions of Duterte and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with the latter focusing on a proactive approach in responding to the energy emergency as the former is off on an overseas trip in the Netherlands as of press time.

She fired back at the Vice President’s utterances, “At ang Bise Presidente naman ay isang abogado, parang ito ba ay like father, like daughter?

Malacañang’s mouthpiece, meanwhile, issued a clarification on the status of vegetable supply in the country, citing Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr.’s report during Monday’s UPLIFT Committee meeting presided over by President Marcos Jr.

This, in response to Senator Imee Marcos’ remarks calling out the Department of Agriculture (D.A.) for its alleged reliance on imports to augment domestic food supply, particularly citing cabbage as an example.

As far as Secretary Tiu Laurel Jr. is concerned, yes, it’s fake news.”

Usec. Castro concluded her remarks by reiterating a stern warning against fake news peddlers, reminding them that the government will leave no stone unturned in its quest to go after those disseminating misinformation.
