More Filipinos feel that they “could be happier” with their love life, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
The nationwide survey conducted on Nov. 24–30, 2025 and released on Wednesday, revealed that 40% of the respondents say they could be happier, a four-point increase from 36% in 2024.
Those who consider themselves “very happy” with their love life stayed at 46%, but still the lowest in over 20 years since the survey was first conducted in 2004.
On the other hand, those who say they have no love life decreased to 14% from 18% in 2024.
Based on the November 2025 survey, happiness with their love life was highest among married women, 57%, and married men, 55%. While wives who were happy with their love life rose by three points compared to the 2024 survey, it fell six points among husbands.
Meanwhile, happiness among women with live-in partners dropped eight points from 53% in 2024, while it “hardly changed” for men, at 49%.
In terms of being single, more male respondents said they have no love life in 2025 at 28%, up by nine points compared to the previous survey.
Among women respondents, 22% said they have no spouse or partner, down two points from 24% in the 2024 survey.
On improving relationships
According to life coach Myke Celis, for a relationship to truly work, loving your partner is not the only ingredient needed.
Coach Myke noted that some people perceive love the same as tolerating their partner’s bad behaviors.
“You’re not helping the other person grow, and you’re not helping the relationship grow. So dapat, bukod sa love, meron ka ring understanding, meron ka ring effort, may communication para mag-work ang isang relationship,” he said.
Coach Myke likewise reminded couples that love evolves as the relationship progresses.
“As you grow older together, nag-iiba rin kasi ang love. You should allow it to evolve into whatever it may have to be in the process. Dapat embrace mo lang [and] accept [it],” he said.
“Always remember that love is not measured by passion. It’s measured by the beautiful moments that you create together long after the passion is gone,” he added.
