Eid Mubarak!
In a message posted on social media on Wednesday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined Muslims around the world in their solemn observance of Eid’l Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice.
This religious festival marks the culmination of pilgrimage (hajj) rites near Mecca in Saudi Arabia, and honors Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice of his son in obedience to Allah’s will.
The statement read, “It calls us to look beyond our personal desires and to recognize that true fulfillment is found in obedience, humility, and devotion.”
President Marcos Jr. went on to emphasize the message of Eid’l Adha, conveying the importance of gaining strength through sincerity and love, while maintaining an upright disposition for a noble cause.
He likewise noted that such deeds transform into blessings that form the foundation of lively households and tight-knit communities, encouraging everyone to partake in shared principles as part of a much larger society.
The Chief Executive concluded by expressing optimism that through this festivity, Filipinos can take some time off to reflect and ponder their purpose in life, as well as rekindle their spirituality.
