PTV seeks collab with 3 biggest local media networks

The People’s Television Network, Inc. (PTV) is ushering in a new era with an announcement of potential partnerships with the three largest media companies in the country.

In a statement Thursday, new PTV General Manager Lino Edgardo Cayetano said that ABS-CBN, GMA, and MediaQuest TV5 “have reached out” to help in further advancing the state-run television network’s mandate.

Cayetano said the PTNI Board has adopted a resolution authorizing him to enter into partnerships with the said media organizations.

“To serve Filipinos better and remain engaged and relevant in their lives, we need multiple stakeholders at the table, working alongside the already outstanding and hardworking men and women of PTV,” he said.

“I thank the three largest media organizations—all held in high esteem and trust by the Filipino people to be part of PTV’s future,” he added.

The planned collaboration is only the beginning of PTV’s expansion as Cayetano seeks to further improve the network’s reach through traditional and digital media.

“Napaka importanteng estratehiya going into social media, transitioning into being able to reach a wider audience through different digital mediums, pero free TV is still one of—yung pinaka importanteng mga corridors natin. PTV has a mandate to reach every Filipino, and yun yung kaibahan niya sa pangkaraniwang istasyong pang-komersyo,” he said in a previous interview.

GM Lino took his oath of office before Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez in Malacañang on June 4.

He succeeded veteran television executive Maria Lourdes Choa-Fagar, who was appointed as acting general manager in August 2025.
