Imus treasury to accept tax payments on weekends in January

IMUS CITY, Cavite — The city treasury office here will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all Saturdays and Sundays this month to process realty and business tax payments.

Tax payers may pay their dues during weekends — Jan. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28.

City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi said the weekend schedules are for the convenience of the taxpayers.

The extra days, he said, will also help encourage his constituents to pay their taxes before the deadline and prevent them from incurring penalties due to late payment.

To avoid paying interest, he reminded business owners/administrators to pay their business taxes, business permits and other regulatory fees for Calendar Year 2017 before Jan. 20 this year.

Owners and/or administrators of properties (land/building/machinery) are also reminded to pay their real property taxes before March 31, 2018.

The city government provides incentives for a 20-percent discount for real property taxes for Calendar Year 2018, which will be paid in full on/before Jan. 20 and a 10-percent discount if taxes are fully settled before March 31 this year.

A 10-percent discount is also provided for real estate taxes paid on or before the quarterly payment scheduled every 20th of January, April, July and October this year. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
