Imus extends deadline for business permit renewal to Jan. 31

IMUS CITY, Cavite — Imus business owners, who are yet to renew their business permit and licenses, have until the end of the month to do so to avoid penalties, as the city’s Sangguniang Panglungsod (city council) adopted a resolution extending the deadline to renew business permit and licenses from Jan. 20 to Jan. 31.

City Treasurer Manuel Reynold W. Dela Fuente on Friday said City Council Resolution No. ‎03-2018-01 provided for the deadline extension upon the recommendation of City Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi.

Dela Fuente said the city mayor has endorsed the renewal extension after various business sectors made their requests to Maliksi to provide leeway for the processing of documents.

He said the move was in line with Maliksi’s thrust to provide the utmost public service and implement essential laws and ordinances through cooperation between the citizenry and government in order to address the needs of the people.

Dela Fuente added that the extended deadline also covers payment of business taxes, fees and regulatory charges, prompting the city treasury office to maximize its new computerized system.

He said their service hours also start from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the remaining Saturdays and Sundays this month to process business, realty and business tax payments.

The weekend working hours would afford Cavite and Manila-based business owners to avail of the January 20-21 and 27-28 additional working schedules.

He also reminded that owners and/or administrators of properties (land/building/machinery) could pay their real property taxes before March 31, 2018.

The city government provides incentive for a 20 percent discount for real property taxes for Calendar Year 2018 full payment on/before Jan. 20 and sets the 10 percent discount if paid in full before March 31 this year.

A 10-percent discount is given for real estate taxes paid on or before the quarterly payment scheduled every 20th of January, April, July and October this year. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
