Meralco announces power interruptions in parts of CALABARZON
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Some areas in CALABARZON (Calabarzon) Region, particularly Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal, may experience temporary power interruptions due to maintenance and service works including testing works and relocation of facilities and posts of the power distribution utility firm Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).
In its advisory on Monday, Meralco said that Dasmariñas City, Imus City, and General Trias City in Cavite will experience service interruptions on Tuesday (Jan. 23) between 12:01 a.m. and 12:59 a.m. and subsequently between 7:01 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Affected areas include portion of Don Placido Campos Ave. from Goldenville I Subd. to and including Bgys. Malagasang II-F & G in Imus City; Goldenville II Subd., Greensborough Subd., Dexterville Classic Subd., Dasmariñas Townsville Subd., Sunndale Homes and Sunrise Hills Subd. in Bgy. Sabang, Dasmariñas City; and, the Mary Cris Complex in Barangay Pasong Camachile 2 in General Trias City.
Portion of Emilio Aguinaldo Highway from Don Placido Campos Ave. to Governor Drive including Via Verde Village and Villa Catalina Subd.; Magsaysay Institute of Shipping Foundation, Dasmariñas Water District, Petron Corporation and Progressive Development Corp. in Barangays San Agustin II and III in Dasmariñas City.
Portion of Governor Drive and C. M. Delos Reyes Ave. from Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Highway to near Gen. Trias National Road including Sitio De Fuego, Berlite Industries, Monterey, ADC Ready Mix and Roos Metal Works; Barangays Pinagtipunan, Tapia, Pasong Kawayan 1 and 2, Buenavista 1, 2 and 3, Manggahan and San Francisco in General Trias City.
Meralco said the temporary power glitch in these areas is due to preventive maintenance and testing works inside the Meralco – Abubot substation.
Also, beginning 11 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 23) until 4 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24), some areas in Kawit, Cavite from the Kawit Municipal Hall Complex along Centennial Road in Barangay Batong Dalig will experience temporary power service outages due to the relocation of primary facilities affected by overpass construction along Centennial Road in Barangay Batong Dalig by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Meralco’s maintenance schedule on Tuesday (Jan. 23) also covers areas in Calamba City, Laguna from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. affecting areas mostly the hot spring resorts from portion of the Calamba City – Los Baños National Highway from near Bucal Bypass Road to and including Garden Resort, Luisa Ridge Resort, Eduardo Barretto Sr. National High School and Elementary School, Yahweh Hot Spring Resort, Iglesia Ni Cristo;
Rockpoint Hotspring Resort Hotel & Spa; Barreto Subdivision, Bayview Subdivision, Laguna Hills Subdivision, South Spring Villas Subdivision, Solemar Del Pansol Subdivision, Villa Pansol Subdivision, Purok 1, 3 and 4; and Masikap Street in Barangays Bucal, Halang and Pansol.
The five-hour temporary power outage is due to relocation of facilities affected by the DPWH road widening project along the Calamba – Los Baños National Highway, Barangay Bukal in Calamba City.
On Wednesday (Jan. 24), areas in Cainta in Rizal province will also experience power service interruptions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the affected areas such as St. Joseph Subd. and Villarica in Barangay. Sto. Domingo, Cainta due line reconductoring works, installation of facilities and replacement of poles inside St. Joseph Subdivision, Barangay Sto. Domingo in Cainta, Rizal Province.
In Tanay, Rizal Province, some areas will have no electricity from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24) due to the extension of circuit Malaya 48MM and unloading of circuit Malaya 44MM in Barangay Tandang Kutyo in Tanay, Rizal Province.
The areas covered portion of Baras – Tanay Highway (Manila East Road) from STI College Tanay to Haven of Rest Cemetery including Tanay Fish Research Station (National Inland Fisheries Technology Center); Sitio Suyok and Gamo Compound in Bgy. Tandang Kutyo.
Meralco also announced that Imus City in Cavite will have temporary power outage from 11 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24) until 4 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to relocation of primary facilities inside Mary Cris Homes Subdivision, Barangay Bucandala III.
Likewise, San Pablo City in Laguna will also experience temporary power service glitches between 11 to 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24) and then between 7:01 to 8 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to preventive maintenance and testing works inside Meralco – San Pablo II substation.
Several areas will be affected areas from portion of A. Mabini St. from J. P. Rizal Ave. to and including Springleaf Heights Subd., Gawad Kalinga Subd. and CG Brion Village in Bgys. Dolores, Buenaventura, San Pedro, San Lucas I & II, Sta. Catalina and city proper in San Pablo City.
Portion of Schetelig Ave. from P. Gomez St. to San Lorenzo Barangay Road including Cliff View Subd., Doña Eusebia Subd., Immaculate Compound, Lozada Subd., Pope Pious Village, Carmelite Subd., Efarca Village, Vesco Subd., Villa Lozada Subd. and NHA Housing Project in Bgys. Concepcion, San Buenaventura, San Diego, San Lorenzo, San Lucas I, Sta. Isabel and Sto. Angel in San Pablo City.
Portion of Jose Rizal Ave. from Colago Ave. to and including A. Flores, M. Basa, A. Bonifacio, Jacinto Zamora, L. Jaena, P. Paterno, Pedro Alcantara, P. Burgos, General Miguel Malvar, Inocencio Barleta, Marciano Brion and Paseo De Escudero Sts. in city proper, San Pablo City.
Portion of M. Paulino Ave. from Miguel Leonor St. to and including Crispin Calabia and D. I. Calihan Sts. in Bgy. San Francisco and city proper, San Pablo City.
Portion of Maharlika Highway from Crispin Calabia St. to San Pablo – Dolores Road including Farconville Subd., Kings Row Subd., Manhattan Village, Mary Help of Christian Subd., Medex Corp Subd., San Gregorio Homes Subd., Villa San Gregorio Subd. and SPC Subd. in Bgys. San Francisco, San Gregorio, San Ignacio and Sto. Niño in San Pablo City.
Portion of San Pablo – Dolores Road from Maharlika Highway in Bgy. Sto. Niño, San Pablo City to and including Bgys. Bulakin I & II, Cabatang, Manggahan and Pinagdanglayan in Dolores; Sto. Niño Homes Subd. and Montelago Nature Estates Subd. in Bgys. San Cristobal, Sta. Elena and Sto. Niño in San Pablo City.
Laguna town of Bay will also experience power interruption from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to replacement of facilities along Sampaguita Street in Barangay Paciano Rizal in Bay.
Affected areas include portion of Sampaguita St. from F. T. San Luis Ave. to near Bay – Los Baños municipal boundary including Paciano Rizal Barangay Hall, Science & Technology School of Los Baños and Iglesia Ni Cristo Chapel in Barangays Paciano Rizal and Sto. Domingo.
In Batangas province, Batangas City and the town of San Pascual will have a nine-hour power service outage starting 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to preventive maintenance and testing works inside the power transmission firm National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) – Bolboc substation.
The service maintenance works will affect Sitio Santa Rita Ilaya in Barangays Santa Rita Karsada and Soro Soro Karsada in Batangas City; portion of Batangas City – San Jose National Road from Meralco – Mahabang Parang substation to and including Sitios Kanluran, Ilaya and Ibaba in Barangays Bucal, Concepcion and Mahabang Parang in Batangas City.
Another Batangas town of Sto. Tomas will experience power outage from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 25) due to relocation of facilities affected by the DPWH road widening project along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Jose in Sto. Tomas.
The relocation of facilities will affect portion of the Maharlika Highway from Sto. Tomas Road to and including St. Joseph Multipurpose Cooperative in Barangay. San Felix and San Jose.
Meralco has also scheduled on Thursday (Jan. 25) the replacement of hazardous poles, installation of additional lightning protection devices and line reconductoring works along Manggahan Floodway West Bank Road in Barangay Maybunga in Pasig City resulting in temporary power glitches from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Cainta and Taytay in Rizal Province.
The improvement and maintenance services will affect portion of Manggahan Floodway West Bank Road from Legaspi Bridge in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City to Barkadahan Bridge in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal including Manggahan Floodway West Bank Road in Barangay San Andres in Cainta, Rizal. (Saul Pa-a/PNA)
