DPWH to build 8 bridges in Calabarzon

MANILA — Eight bridges will be constructed in Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon this year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.

In a statement, Project Manager Estrella Villar of DPWH-Unified Project Management Office for Region 4-A, said the building of viaducts was under its Bridge Construction Replacement Project (BCRP) Contract Package 4.

She said that Notice of Award (NOA) had been issued to the bid winning contractor of the projects which would be implemented under design-and-build scheme.

Bridge projects in Laguna include the 35-lineal meter Nanguna Bridge along Rizal Boundary-Famy-Quezon Road, the 21-lineal meter Sala Bridge along Manila South Road (MSR), and the 30-lineal meter Bay 2 Bridge along Calamba-Sta. Cruz-Famy Junction Road.

It will also cover the construction of the bridges in Quezon including the 60-lineal meter San Francisco, 42-lineal meter San Miguel Dau and Cogorin Bridges along MSR Jct.-Lopez Cabanatuan Road, and the 42-lineal meter Sangirin Bridge along Quezon-Alabat-Perez Road.

DPWH will also construct the 15-lineal meter Sta. Maria Bridge along Talisay-Laurel-Agoncillo Road.

On the other hand, Villar said that the contract perfection for the project package was on-going.
