DPWH completes construction of 36 school buildings in Isabela

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Thousands of students in seven towns in the province of Isabela can now use 36 new school buildings constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Composed of 14 single-storey, 11 two-storey, five three-storey, and six four-storey buildings, these projects were implemented to accommodate the growing number of enrollees in the towns of Angadanan, Alicia, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, San Guillermo, and San Mateo.

The completed projects were constructed for a total cost of PHP382.36 million, funded by the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education.

DPWH-Isabela 3rd District Engineer, Editha C. Babaran, said Tuesday the beneficiaries of the new school buildings are the Dingading Integrated School; Bagong Sikat Elementary School – Annex 1; Bonifacio Elementary School; Caloocan Elementary School; Sto. Niño Integrated School; San Guillermo Vocational and Industrial School; Reina Mercedes Vocational and Industrial School; and Alicia National High School.

“The completion of these school buildings is a manifestation of our support for the education program of our current administration, with the hope that these new school buildings will serve as a tool for the students’ educational welfare,” she said. (Simeon Dilan/PNA)
