BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized PHP1.856 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations conducted from February 1 to 18, figures released by the police on Wednesday showed.

A total of 123.795 grams of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride were seized during the period while 37 persons were arrested in the 16 operations conducted.

Anti-drug operatives also filed 43 cases.

The biggest haul during the period is the PHP1.2 million in “shabu” seized during a buy-bust against three suspects on February 13 at Greensville 2 Subdivision, Barangay Villamonte.

Charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office were Joseph Tan, 37; Chito Garrido, 35; and Rodel Parcon, 37, for sale and possession of illegal drugs.

According to the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), all three are newly-identified suspects considered as high-value target drug personalities.

On February 12, the Police Station 2 confiscated an estimated PHP150,000 worth of “shabu” from three suspects during a buy-bust along 6th-Lacson Streets.
