2 teenagers nabbed for theft in Cavite elementary school

ROSARIO, Cavite – Police and barangay tanods (village watchmen) arrested two teenagers for stealing assorted appliances, computer gadgets and cash worth PHP 2,090 from the Mayor Calixto D. Enriquez Elementary School in barangay Ligtong 1 in this town Monday morning.

The suspects were identified as Ruben Lisama Ventura, 18 and Dazzel Lisama, a minor and Grade Six student of the elementary school, who are both residents of Barangay Ligtong 1.

The investigating cops together with Barangay Ligtong 1 chief village watchman Roberto Paloyo and his fellow found that the looters dismantled the jalousie windows and door locks to gain entry into the classrooms.

CCTV footage installed in strategic areas in Barangay Ligtong 1 and Barangay Ligtong 2 showed the duo were carting away their stolen items from the school premises at around 1 a.m. Monday, prompting police and village tanods, together with a school teacher Eireen Bareng, to locate the suspects’ addresses on Barangay Ligtong.

Upon arrest, the suspects yielded the stolen items they kept in Ventura’s house on Pilapil and Capt. J. Luna Streets in Ligtong 1, including eight elctric fans, Bluetooth speaker, and MSI notebook/laptop.

Ventura is now detained for theft charges while the minor grade schooler was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) office for proper disposition. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
