Davao police nets 49 cars in Oplan Lambat Bitag

DAVAO CITY – Police authorities impounded 49 vehicles in a joint Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan conducted in different areas here.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Chief Supt. Alexander Tagum in an interview Thursday said the Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan was intended to clear the city of suspected stolen cars and unregistered plying the city streets.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Task Force Davao, the law enforcement units of DCPO, the Land Transportation Office XI, Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) and Regional Mobile Force Battalion in the areas of Sta. Ana, San Pedro, Talomo, Sasa, Buhangin , Bunawan, Toril , Tugbok and Calinan.

Tagum said the operation resulted in the confiscation of 230 drivers’ licenses, impounded 38 single motorcycles, seven motorcycles with sidecar and four four-wheel cars.

It also resulted in the issuance of 23 citation tickets for various serious traffic violations.

All impounded motor vehicles were endorsed to the Traffic Group compound for proper disposition, Tagum said. (Rhoda Grace Saron/PNA)
