Fake PDEA agent falls in Rizal

MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Task Force Against Illegal Drugs arrested a fake agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cainta, Rizal.

In a statement released Wednesday, NBI Director Dante Gierran identified Jai Sunshine Chua, the alleged bagman who kept the drugs and money for a group which recruits juveniles to use firearms and takes them to their illegal activities.

The group operates in San Mateo,Taguig,Cainta and nearby areas of Rizal.

The operation followed fake PDEA agents supposedly operating in Ususan, Taguig.

The move was based on a report on an incident last Feb. 4, in which CCTV footage showed a man and a woman in PDEA uniforms with rifles rushing to a house to arrest a man.

Barangay officials reported the presence of armed men in Taguig who approached the vehicles. The driver of the Montero alighted and introduced himself as a PDEA agent then immediately boarded the vehicle and sped away to Makati.

Taguig and Makati police failed to catch the group but recovered a black Toyota Hi Lux abandoned along Lansones St. cor. Mabolo St., Comembo Makati City on the same day.

Found inside the vehicles were firearms,cellular phones, white susbtance and fake bills amounting to PHP296,000.

Aside from Chua, other members of the group were identified as Ryan Bonn Singson dela Cruz, Glenn Santiago, Aristotle Tutaan Quitania, JR Ordonez, Anthony Ordonez , Michael Corpuz, Junjun Patawi, Patrick Amit and Hernando Llaguno.

The group was seen again in Cainta, Rizal using two motorcycles and a green Honda City.
