PNPA opens slots for qualified guest professors

SILANG, Cavite – The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is considering an educational partnership and collaboration with guest professors to teach general courses during the first semester of Academic Year ‎2018-2019.

In a media advisory released Friday, PNPA Director, Chief Supt. Joseph Cagayan Adnol, said interested guest professors must have undergone formal training on K to 12 teaching methodologies or at least attended a related training course or seminar with issued certificate by any higher educational institution mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The guest professors will be teaching in the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety (BSPS) K-12 Aligned Program’s general courses, such as Understanding the Self, Life and Works of Rizal and Readings in Philippine History, Mathematics in the Modern World, Purposive Communication, and Information Technology for Statistical Research.

Interested applicants may send their intent until May to the office of the Academic Affairs through the Dean of Academics, Camp Gen. Mariano Castaǹeda here or may email through [email protected].

The PNPA was created to produce highly competent and respected public safety officers in the three uniformed bureaus of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) — the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
Established under Section 19 of Presidential Decree 1184, the police academy became a primary component of the Philippine Public Safety College pursuant to Section 67 of Republic Act No. 6975 or the Act establishing the PNP under a reorganized DILG.

PNPA’s mission is to provide comprehensive education and training programs to transform cadets into God-center, community-responsive public safety officers trusted and respected by the people. (PNA)
