Pusher nabbed in Koronadal drug bust

GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Police operatives arrested a suspected drug pusher, whose alleged customers are mostly students, in a buy-bust operation in Koronadal City Tuesday evening (March 20).

Supt. Ronald Allan Peñaverde, Koronadal City police chief, said Wednesday suspect Von Mart Aclan Durana, 22, was nabbed during an entrapment operation at the vicinity of Purok Leganes in Brgy. Zone I at around 10 p.m.

He said the suspect sold a sachet of suspected metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P500 to a police officer who posed as a buyer.

Recovered from Durana was a pack of suspected shabu valued at P5,000, various drug paraphernalia and P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust, he said.

The police official said they earlier received a tip from an informant regarding the illegal activities of the suspect.

“We subjected him to a series of surveillance operations and eventually confirmed his involvement in the drug trade,” he said.

The suspect, who is detained at the Koronadal City Police station lockup, will be charged with violation of sections 5, 11 and 12, under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (AMS/PNA)
